Future web is a topic you cover well in this post.

I see it as Multi Micro Mobile.

Multi media, micro content, mobile computing.

Wearables and embeds will unleash ubiquitous computing, and users will have more control over products, delivery, customization, etc.

Universal Content Utopia: any content, any time, any format, anywhere, any sequence, any device.

I am developing a post in response to this one.

I think the future of the web will entail the realization of the need to fight junk sites and blogs and keep quality content at the forefront.

Consider the rate of growth of sites today. Quality must be emphasized as a priority. There will be both technological and human interaction to more diligently filter the sea of information so engines will only deliver the best of content, or one would hope. Than means weeding out all the junk. The shakeup of the Blogosphere is coming...

Nice to share that with readers. I'm afraid that web 2.0 has taken so much out of the true meaning of the web to the extent that people no longer use the internet for information purposes, but rather for socializing and pure entertainment. Come on, I am not saying people should NOT socialize and have fun over the internet, all I'm saying is that it's too much out of it.

This being said, I'm looking forward to web 3.0 or web 5.0

I found the article informative but I also think you're nuking it way to much lol. Similar to "The Death of Adsense", it seems like a hype for attention only to experience little change.

Some of what you describe is already hear. "I search for content and vendors present it to me?"... doesn't sound much different than what's happening now. Maybe it's just me.

The future of the web is just more accurate information and more surgical searches and development. We can see it going this way already with SEO. Think about it, only the well optimized sites and quality abundant sites will be at the top. We will experience less garbage sites and more quality ones. Technologies like flash will find a way to be better recognized by search engines and load faster even with dial up.

Sooner or later we'll be able to smell, taste and feel where we go. Macy's Online will smell like Macy's shopping center, Outback Steakhouse will smell like you're there with area sound to make use feel bi-located (as if you're in to places at once) http://www.trvnews.com/tsl/032103/index.html go here to have it explained.

We as a society want more reality with not real things. Industry and business will cater to it to make us keep coming back.
